Many veterans are suffering from chronic pain and other chronic long term conditions. These conditions affect their daily activities and quality of life. The Care in the Community Program of Spokane offers an opportunity for veterans to benefit from the restorative effects of acupuncture, a safe and effective modality to help relieve suffering without any cost to veterans. If you’re a veteran who goes to the VA for their care, you can receive an acupuncture treatment at Emily Farish Acupuncture clinic at no charge.
The Veterans Choice Act (VCA) was created in 2014 and provided funding for veterans to receive treatment outside their designated Veterans Administration Hospital. The goal was to address potential delays in healthcare access for veterans.
Here’s how to receive care for Veterans with at Emily Farish Acupuncture.

2. Call Emily Farish Acupuncture and let her know you are interested
How do I Access Spokane Acupuncture for Veterans at no cost?
The VA will pay 100% for your acupuncture treatments, provided that you get a referral for authorization. To receive treatment, you’ll need to contact your VA primary care doctor and ask for an authorization to see a “Choice Provider” in the community (you have to name Emily Farish Acupuncture as the provider who you would like to see). Once Emily Farish Acupuncture clinic receives the authorization, treatments can begin right away.
Acupuncture can address a wide range of health conditions as well and help veterans to improve sleep and help improve stress management. Veterans are generally referred for pain management but may also be referred for PTSD, insomnia, chronic pain, among others.
